Making Tax Digital

Making Tax Digital (MTD) is no longer optional for most businesses – and if you're not yet fully compliant, you could be at risk of penalties. But don't panic – our MTD service is here to take the stress away and get you set up properly.

We’ll help you move onto MTD-compatible software like Xero or QuickBooks, making sure your records are digital, your returns are submitted correctly, and your business stays compliant with HMRC’s latest requirements. No more rushing to submit last-minute figures or juggling spreadsheets – everything is streamlined, secure and submitted on time.

We’ll also show you how to keep your records in line with MTD rules, and we’ll handle the tech side so you don’t have to. Whether you're VAT-registered, self-employed, or running a limited company, we’ll make sure MTD doesn’t become yet another thing on your to-do list.

Frequently Asked Questions

MTD is a government initiative from HMRC that aims to make tax administration more effective, efficient and easier for taxpayers. It means keeping digital records and submitting tax returns using MTD-compliant software like Xero or QuickBooks.

If you're VAT-registered or self-employed with income over £50,000, you’re already required to follow MTD rules. These requirements are being gradually rolled out to other taxpayers too. Self-employed individuals and landlords with income over £50,000 will need to follow MTD for Income Tax from April 2026, and those earning over £30,000 will be brought in from April 2027.

Spreadsheets on their own won’t meet HMRC’s requirements. In some cases, they can be used alongside special bridging software – but switching to a full MTD-compliant solution is usually much easier and more efficient. We’ll guide you through your best options.

Not necessarily. You may be using the software, but unless it’s correctly set up for MTD and used in line with HMRC’s requirements, you could still fall short. We’ll double-check your setup and make any tweaks needed.

Absolutely – training is included in our MTD service. We’ll show you and your team how to use your new system with confidence, so you’re never left guessing.
